Drugs in SportsWhy do athletes use drugs in sports? It may make their muscles grow larger, reduce tiredness and give a feeling of elation, and bring confidence. However drugs can also increase aggression and competitiveness and can even cause weight loss, As you know drugs come in many shapes and can do different things. The main drugs athletes use are Steroids, Stimulants, Beta Blockers, Narcotics, Analgesics and Blood Doping. They know that steroids build leg arm and chest muscles, Beta Blockers are to control stress and anxiety. Stimulants are to speed up the central nervous system, narcotic analgesics kill pain at the site of injury. Blood doping is to increase the stamina levels of muscles. Although the drugs might make them feel
good in themselves and look good on TV, we do not know the pain
that is going on inside their body. Stimulants cause psychological
addiction, breathing problems and vomiting. Beta blockers cause
heart failure and breathing difficulties. Steroids can cause
liver cancer and heart disease. For men it can cause stunted
growth and for women it can cause facial hair and infertility. Finally I just want to say 'Take drugs and die or train and survive'. You don't need to take drugs to make you look and feel like this, you have to work for it. It is then that you definitely earned your trophy. Krystal Let me know what you think! Drugs and YouDrugs are becoming more and more popular
among young people every year, and although most drug uses are
aware of the side affects and consequences are the continue to
abuse drugs. Ecstasy is the most popular drug among teenagers
and even after the death of 'Leah Betts' over one pill young
people still fail to understand. Drug dealers make thousands
and thousands of pounds each year from innocent young lives. OpinionsDrugs can be fun for about 10 minutes but
what about after that? |
