Body Mind Society
All around us we see super thin super models, magazines full of diets, adverts for plastic surgery, make up and every kind of beauty product to change and supposedly 'improve' the way we look. The message seems to say if you want to be happy, accepted and successful you need to look like the models. More young women want plastic surgery, many develop eating disorders and many experience depression because they fail to fulfil these unrealistic expectations. At Malory school a group of young women
are going to decide for themselves what they think are the important
things around body image, self esteem and health. Bronwen Bakare Funded by DfES and Lewisham Youth Service.
Sure Start Plus
The young people's experience of a range of health and support services will be sought so that their views will shape future provision for young parents. The anonymity of all young people will be protected. This work will take place over 12 weeks
and the final report will be used in the development of a work
plan for both Teenage Pregnancy, Parenthood and Sexual Health
Strategy as well as for the Sure Start work plan. |
